About Us
Hi,
Welcome To Be The Budget!
We're Zach and Katie Buchenau--a frugal couple with an affinity for personal finance and entrepreneurship.
We started this blog with two goals in mind: to share the financial tips and strategies that work for us while providing a dose of financial encouragement to anyone that needs it.
Fast forward a few years, 2 kids, hundreds of blog posts, and nearly 2.5 million blog visitors later, and our focus hasn't changed.
Whether you're trying to pay off a mountain of debt (we've been there), build an emergency fund, start your own business, or just save enough money to quit that job you hate, we want to help you stay motivated, focused, and inspired.
We believe that personal finance shouldn't be complicated, confusing or intimidating, and that anyone can learn the skills needed to manage their finances effectively. Heck, we did!
Our blog is filled with our favorite tips on budgeting, saving, paying off debt, building your income, and chasing your dreams.
Over the years, we've distilled our goal into one simple statement: "We want to encourage and help our readers to form better financial habits, and become the hero of their financial story."
If that sounds good to you, we hope you'll join us on this journey to financial freedom.
Let's Be The Budget together!
